Why does everyone hate on the tootsie roll? It's such a tasty treat with the perfect combination of chocolate and chewiness. I for one love and embrace the goodness of the tootsie roll. I'm currently eating a tootsie pop, which is a highlight in an already awesome day. I've been wishing I had once since I saw some last Thursday. (I'm one of those people who gets a very specific craving for something, and while substitutes can be made, I won't be completely satisfied until I get the real thing. My two monthish long craving for Baskin Robin's was finally satisfied this last Saturday when Isaac bought me some tasty Gold Medal Ribbon ice cream, thanks Isaac!!) So now I'm very happily sitting in a very boring class eating my tasty tootsie pop.
And incase your wondering, I'm one of the oddities who's actually made all the way to the stick without biting it. Though I don't know how many licks it takes to get to the center of the tootsie pop; I've only done it once and it was a very long time ago!

Art of the Artichoke
I apparently bought the biggest artichoke I've ever seen last time I went to the store. I was going to make two tiny ones I had from Trader Joe's but they were no good, so I pulled out the one I bought at Safeway and was shocked at how huge it was. Apparently artichokes are antioxidant power houses and they have more antioxidants than any other vegetable. Well that's what the package of the little ones said, so I if I eat the big one I should be good for about a week? It's still cooking, who know's how long it will take, it's been just over an hour and it's not done yet. Oh, plus I hate preping the artichoke because I'm always stabbing myself on the thorns, when I cut them off they shoot all over the place, and after handeling it before it's cooked it leaves my hands smelling nasty and leaving a gross taste on them that only comes off after like 4 washes. It's a good thing I love them so much!!
But apparently it was the night of giant food because I pulled out some chicken to put in the crock-pot, usually I wrap two pieces together and freeze them, well I unwrpped this one and was poking at it to break them appart only to discover it was one giant piece, almost the size of the bottom of the crock-pot. Crazy business!
